Description
English: World War I-era poster shows silhouette of a German soldier pulling girl with long hair through the flaming background. The soldier wears a distinct spiked helmet of the German Imperial Army and carries a gun. The black figures in the foreground contrast sharply with the red and orange flames and green background. A town appears to be burning in the background. Published by New York: United States Prtg. & Lith. Co., artist: Ellsworth Young, ca. 1917- ca. 1919.
