| Description |
English: Remains of lime-kiln. This is the fifth of ten former lime-kiln sites that are located along a short section of the Murroch Burn. For an index to pictures of all ten sites, see 1622071
The pit is about three metres across, and still easily identifiable. At the extreme right of the photo, some small waterfalls along the Murroch Burn can be seen. On the left, although obscured by trees, is the far side of the valley of the burn. The sixth site, the only one of the ten that lies on the other side of the Murroch Burn, is fairly close to this one (only 37 metres away), and would be visible in the background of this photo were it not for the intervening trees: https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1622175 |
