Summary
[edit]DescriptionRemains of an L-shaped structure - geograph.org.uk - 1315344.jpg |
English: Remains of an L-shaped structure. There are two ruined buildings in this area, located less than fifty metres apart. This is the more westerly of the pair; very little of the original structure has survived. It is described in detail at WoSAS: http://www.wosas.net/wosas_site.php?id=14194
The line of stones running from left to right at the bottom of this image is all that remains of a short wall that ran NNW-SSE. From its left-hand end, a longer wall (the other arm of the L-shape) leads off WSW-ENE, in the direction of the reservoir. The latter wall is not visible here; it is hard to show it effectively in photographs because it is largely obscured by vegetation, although its course can be followed easily enough on the ground. Burncrooks Reservoir is visible in the background. As mentioned at the start of this item, there is another ruin nearby; see 1315348. |
