| Description |
English: Remains of Unstone Colliery This appears to have been the last of the collieries in the Unstone area, probably opening after all the earlier ones had closed. It was an adit mine running into the hillside on the east side of the valley. The most visible remains are a pair of brick arches, just visible among the vegetation to the right, which appear to have been part of the arrangements for loading coal into railway wagons.
It was the second colliery with the same name; the earlier one was situated at around SK378770. |
