Description
English: Relief slab from a frieze depicting an Amazonomachy. Pentelic marble. Found in Athens. Probably part of the frieze of a funerary monument in the form of a naiskos. The relief depicts two Amazons, with full military equipment, fighting a nude Greek warrior. Attributed to the school of Bryaxis or Timotheos. About the middle of the 4th century B.C. Accession number: 3614. National Archaeological Museum of Athens. Text: Museum inscription.
