Português: O Relógio do Sol de Franca (SP) foi construído e montado entre 1886 e 1887, pelo Frei Germano de Annecy, um frade francês que era astrônomo, botânico e físico. Ele era conhecido pelo Imperador Dom Pedro II, que chegou a presenteá-lo com um cronômetro (ferramenta que era muito elaborada para o século XIX).
O Relógio do Sol de Franca é um relógio vertical com mais de 3m de altura e que foi construído por meio das doações da população local, ele possui várias faces, sendo que a face leste mostra os horários até às 11h da manhã, enquanto a face oeste mostra os horários no período da tarde. A face norte e a face sul indicam a posição do sol ao meio-dia (cada uma é utilizada em certa época do ano). Esse relógio é um dos poucos, talvez o único, relógio do sol vertical do Brasil, sendo que no mundo um dos poucos exemplares com características similares existe na cidade francesa de Annecy, onde nasceu o Frei Germano. Quem construiu o Relógio do Sol de Annecy foi outro frade alguns anos antes do Relógio do Sol de Franca, e provavelmente ele e o Frei Germano tiveram os mesmos professores. Em 2017 uma árvore caiu sobre o Relógio do Sol de Franca, após uma grande tempestade, desmontando-o e danificando alguns elementos. A restauração levou quase dois anos e foi feita por restauradores especializados e astrônomos. O Relógio é um dos maiores símbolos da cidade de Franca (SP).
