Deutsch: Vorderseite: FRIEDRICH II KOENIG IN PREUSEN - DER WELT GEGEBEN D 24 IAN 1712. Brustbild des Königs Friedrich II. in Uniform mit Zopf nach links. Am Armabschnitt die Medailleursignatur R (Reich).
Rückseite: FAMA SVPER AETHERA NOTVS /// OBIIT D XVII AVG / MDCCLXXXVI [Über den Himmel hinaus berühmt. Gestorben am 17. August 1786]. Urne mit Aufschrift F II auf einem Postament mit Aufschrift AETERNI/TATI stehend, im Abschnitt zweizeilige Aufschrift. Rechts die Signatur R (Reich). Kommentar: Die Medaille des in Eisenberg geborenen und in Nürnberg arbeitenden Medailleurs Johann Christian Reich ist auf den Tod Friedrichs II. von Preußen in unterschiedlichen Stempelkombinationen geschaffen worden. Während für die Vorderseite eine deutsche Umschrift gewählt wurde, ist die Rückseite mit der noch im 18. Jahrhundert üblichen Schrift in Latein ausgeführt. Literatur: M.
