| Description | This diverse set of houses in and near the Old Bond Hill Historic District in Cincinnati's Bond Hill neighborhood date to around the turn of the 20th Century that were built during the second wave of development in the neighborhood, which at the time was a suburb of Cincinnati. Characterized by wood frame construction and Victorian styling, some of the houses are remarkably intact, but many have had inappropriate alterations such as the replacement of original windows with a different style of windows, and the cladding of the homes in vinyl and aluminum siding. As with much of the neighborhood, landlords and property owners have ignored the guidelines of the historic district, and the city does little to nothing to enforce the guidelines. Hopefully, as neighborhoods around the city continue to improve, this area will get the attention and care that it deserves. |
