Summary
[edit]DescriptionRedruth, Tolgus or Sara's Foundry - geograph.org.uk - 107224.jpg |
English: Redruth: Tolgus or Saras Foundry. An 11 breastshot waterwheel on a private site. Also known as Town Mill Foundry; a decayed and ancient corn mill also survives here. The foundry was established by William M Sara in 1860 and in 1997 a 24 waterwheel was also on site, although some of its shrouds were missing. For more on Cornish foundries see John Ferguson, Forged and Founded in Cornwall. Cornish Hillside Publications, St Austell, 2000
