Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Red dead-nettle (Lamium purpureum) The dead-nettle genus (Lamium) gives the modern name Lamiaceae to the family of two-lipped flowering plants traditionally called Labiatae. They are not related to stinging nettles and in this species the leaves do not bear a close resemblance; they do however have a similar preference for disturbed ground. The downiness of the plant can be seen on the backs of some of the flowers. Growing on the banks of Coldham's Brook.
