Mother bird's protective behavior is well demonstrated.

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: In a suburban area of Colombo (Sri Jayawardenapura), Sri Lanka a family of Red Wattle Lapwings was noticed by me. It was heartening to see how the mother bird tried desperately to get all the chicks under its wings.

Sri Jayawardenepura - the country's administrative capital is a great place for bird watching and photography. It is only about 10 km from Colombo - the country's commercial capital. Even rare migrants such as Glossy Ibis is spotted here during some years.
