Summary
[edit]DescriptionRed Lion Inn, 74 High Street - geograph.org.uk - 1371581.jpg |
English: Red Lion Inn, 74 High Street One of about five public houses surviving in the small town of Cricklade. This one dates from the early 16th century. Cricklade likes to name its pubs after animals. So as well as the Red Lion, there is still a White Lion, a White Hart, and an Old Bear. Even what is now known as the Vale Hotel, used to be The White Horse. Outside the Red Lion can be seen three green North Wiltshire District Council wheelie bins for refuse. To the immediate left of the pub is a very short lane known as Red Lion Lane; one of the many lanes that lead off the High Street. The Red Lion has its own website: http://www.theredlioncricklade.co.uk/ |
