English: A classic Parks Department sign on the east side of the Sol Goldman Recreation Center (here labeled as Sol Goldman Pool) in Red Hook Park (Red Hook Recreation area), at the northwest corner of Bay Street and Clinton Street in Red Hook, Brooklyn. The rec center and pool is part of the wave of swimming pools and beaches built by Robert Moses in the 1930s, in part to discourage people from swimming in the many creeks and wetlands of Old New York. |
