English: Memorial stone telling the story of the very first roundabout of Recke, Kreis Steinfurt, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
Deutsch: Gedenkstein mit einer Tafel in Buchform am Recker Kreisel in Recke, Kreis Steinfurt, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Deutschland. Der Stein verzeichnet die Entstehungsgeschichte sowie die Schöpfer und Sponsoren dieses ersten, im Jahr 2009 fertig gestellten Kreisverkehrs in der Gemeinde Recke. Er verbindet die Hopstener Straße (Landesstraße 599) mit der Mettinger Straße (Westumgehung). Den Kreisel schmücken vier Darstellungen ländlicher Szenen (Fachwerkhaus, pflügender Bauer, Sämann und Bauer mit Sense). Die Idee dazu hatten Josef Struck, Hermann Büscher und Werner Heukamp. Der Entwurf für die Kreiselgestaltung und die Figurenzeichnungen stammen von Josef Struck. |
