Description
English: Rounded 2D Gaussian lattices (left), matched with their complex Fourier transforms (right), in both cases using logarithmic complex-color which shows red for +1, chartreuse for +i, cyan for -1, indigo for -i, and black for 0.

Three separate "reciprocal-relations" to note:

(i) Broadening of direct-lattice points (i.e. increasing the Gaussian-point standard-deviation) decreases the brightness of the transform pattern at high spatial frequencies (i.e. at the edges),
(ii) the d-spacing between (projected) rows of dots is inversely proportional to the spacing between "diffraction spots" (or g-vector lengths) in the pattern, and
(iii) the coherence width of the lattice itself is inversely proportional to the shape-transform convolved reciprocal-lattice points.
