Description

Just glancing at this bus, you might mistake it to be a late 90s East Lancs Lolyne or Pyoneer, probably on a Dennis Trident chassis. But in fact this bus is considerably older.

It's a Volvo Citybus B10M, originally fitted with Alexander RV bodywork, looking identical to my previous picture- indeed they're sisters! First known as K122URP, she has now got the registration plate WSU481 and fleet number 38122. She was involved in a serious road traffic collision in 1998, when six years old. The subsequent damage (also a fire) destroyed the Alexander body but the chassis survived.

I'm not sure if It's unique- but certainly is rare. I hope It's a worthy candidate for preservation when its time comes, which might not be long due to its 21 years of age and the fact First are withdrawing from Northampton currently.
