Sitting, from left, Robert C. Erskine; George W. Dilling; Robert W. Hill. The photo is part of a photo album created by Robert C. Erskine. Robert Chase Erskine (1876-1971) came to Seattle in 1899 and became a prominent businessman, elected three times as president of the Seattle Real Estate Association. Having upheld a boyhood pledge to his mother to never drink alcohol, when he died at age 95 he left a six-figure trust fund to promote total abstinence from alcohol in the young. A street in West Seattle, Erskine Way SW, is named for him.
