Description
English: To calulate a mountain's rate of change we calculate the slope of the tangent (as illustrated in red to the left); To calculate a mountain's trend of change we place imaginary lines and ask in which part of the plane, defined by those lines, the mountain's points lie in a small enough right neighborhood of the given point (as illustrated in green to the right).
