English: Ramhormoz description in Gholam Hossein Afzal Malik Shirazi Zand's (1862-1929 CE) book "Afzal al-Tawareikh". The author was the official historian of the era of Muzaffaruddin Shah the Qajar king and he is related to Karim Khan Zand the ruler of The Zand dynasty, his book "Afzal al-Tawareikh" tells the events of the years 1896 to1900, page 415 of manuscript describes the native inhabitants of Ramhormoz and Bakhtiari tribes raids on the city(Translation) : "In the past, the number of Ramhormozi Arabs were more than ten thousand families, which are known as the “Al Khamis”, but since forty years ago, due to the raids of the Bakhtiari tribes on the city, no more than three thousand families of Al Khamis remained in Ramhormuz, and in these times it seems that there are no more than five thousand families" |
