Summary

[edit]
Description
Deutsch: Rait, Sérandit, (Bildgröße: 3 cm)
Fundort: Poudrette quarry (Demix quarry; Uni-Mix quarry; Desourdy quarry), Mont Saint-Hilaire, Rouville RCM, Montérégie, Québec, Kanada
English: Raite, Sérandite (picture width: 3 cm)
Locality: Poudrette quarry (Demix quarry; Uni-Mix quarry; Desourdy quarry), Mont Saint-Hilaire, Rouville RCM, Montérégie, Québec, Canada
Tan/pink fuzzy balls of raite cover most of the photo. Some of the balls are "open", most are somewhat "tight". On other specimens from this find the raite is much darker and looks like yofortierite. But the find was extensively studied at the Canadian Museum of Nature and ROM and (despite finding unusual amounts of zinc) the final conclusion was that it is all raite. The pinkish prisms in the upper right corner are serandite.
