| Description |
English: Raise Beck. Walkers on the path up Raise Beck during a snow shower. Curiously, the beck forms part of the Lake District's main watershed, as it divides downstream with some of the water flowing north of Dunmail Raise and some flowing south. It used to flow south only, but it was diverted so as to augment Thirlmere reservoir. The Westmorland-Cumberland boundary (now defunct) runs along the beck. |
