Summary
[edit]DescriptionRainwater collector - geograph.org.uk - 1469357.jpg |
English: Rainwater collector While the limestone rock is notorious for its free drainage and lack of surface water, the islands are supplied with abundant rainwater. These collectors are the solution to providing drinking water for livestock. The angled surface, not necessarily cemented into a watertight structure like this one, faces into the prevailing wind and catches rain which runs down the stones of the apron and is stored in the trough. |
