Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Railways come together. This is the point where High Speed One (see 1140727 for an explanation) comes right up against the historic, and much straighter, Maidstone-Ashford line on the left. The picture is taken from bridge no. 684a carrying Westwell Lane over both lines. The plaque on the bridge gives its chainage (distance from the terminus, in this case probably Charing Cross) as 52 miles 440yds.
