Summary

[edit]
Description

Loviisa railways platform and railway guard's house In the beginning of the 20th saw mills needed means of transportation to the export harbours and cities. One solution was a narrow gaugage private railway, which was founded as a private joint venture between the cities of Lahti and Loviisa. The Loviisa railway had many small railway stations, which became later as platformas only. Near the main village of the municipality of Myrskyla on Lapinjarvi's side of the border is the railway station of Myrskyla. The house and the other buildings are considered as a cultural heritage. Thay are in the private ownership and partly subsidised by the EU funds.
