Summary
[edit]DescriptionRailway notice - geograph.org.uk - 1540568.jpg |
English: Railway notice The villages of Arkholme and Melling are about a mile apart, on either side of the River Lune. The railway viaduct between them is still open, but the 2 village stations have long since closed. This must be one of the quietest sections of double-track railway in the country. The nearest road bridge is well over a mile downstream. Hence the notice. |
