English: Railway near Dumfries. The line from Dumfries to Portpatrick (and branches) closed in 1965. A section remained open for freight (mainly) to serve the ICI plant at Maxwelltown. The "Silver Hammer" railtour - topped and tailed by class 25 locos - is seen making its way along the remains of the line near Dumfries. See also 1330405. |
