The dryer is built with a frame work of three light rails linedon the inside with yi-in. tank steel. The walls and bottom arelined with one layer of fire brick to a height 42 in. above thefloor line. The hopper is made of )4-n\. tank steel joined atthe corners with 2-in. liy 2-in. angles, and the bottom is per-forated with 1-in. round holes to allow the dry sand to run out.The sides and ends are provided with openings covered withsliding doors for the purpose of loosening the sand if packed,or to remove stones which might be lodged inside.
