New equipment will in-clude nine 10-ton traveling cranes and a number of cuttingtools. made the National famous in the railroad field, has had twenty-years experience in the oil business, five years of whichhas been in the application- of the work to the railroadfield. He has had wide experience in general shop prac-tice and is the patentee of a number of useful devices ofrailroad mechanical application. Personals H. CJ. Mudge, second vice president of the Chicago, Rock Is-land & Pacific has been elected president of that road. He suc-ceeds B. L. Winchell who goes to the St. Louis & San Fran-cisco as its president. Mr. Mudge was born in 1856 in Minden,Mich., and received his education from the schools in that place.He was early thrown upon his own resources and began hisrailway career as a water boy on the tracks of the Santa Fe

Jason Paige, contracting engineer for the American BridgeCo., New York, has resigned to take a similar position withthe Lackawanna Bridge Co., Lackawanna, N. Y. The Davies Supply Co., Chicago, dealer in steam fittingsupplies, is having plans prepared for a building on Ontariostreet. The site has been leased for fifteen years. George F. McKay, formerly traffic manager of the Lack-awanna Steel Co., New York, has resigned and since Nov. 1lias been connected with Hazard, Mudge & Co., Buffalo,X. Y., with headquarters in New York.
