These tubes have returnbends at the end near the firebox flue sheet and the steam,returning, enters the superheated steam header. The super-heating is thus done by the passage of the steam againstand with the flow of gases from the firebox. On the design shown in Figure 1 there are ninty-sixpipes or forty-eight superheating elements, the combinedcapacity of which is sufficient to superheat all of the steamadmitted through the throttle and dry pipe.
