| Description |
Español: El "Edificio de Ajustes de los Ferrocarriles" (Railway Building) se construyó entre 1907 y 1910, aunque habría sido completamente habilitado con posterioridad (1914) debido a que un vespertino realizó una denuncia esgrimiendo que la estructura del mismo iba inclinándose hacia el Río de la Plata.
Fue el primer edificio de Buenos Aires que superó los 10 pisos. Contiguo, sobre Paseo Colón, los arquitectos Chambers y Thomas construyeron uno similar de menor escala para la Asociación Cristiana de Jóvenes (YMCA). La manzana, se completaba con los edificios de Rentas Nacionales (antiguos depósitos de la Aduana Taylor, donde hoy está el Ministerio de Economía) y la Escuela Normal de Preceptores (Balcarce y Alsina, esq.NE). Entre estos dos edificios había una construcción particular de dos plantas. El Railway Building fue construido según el modelo del Ansonia Hotel (1904) de Nueva York y en base a un esquema de 14 plantas: un subsuelo, una planta baja, 12 pisos altos y un mirador (que sería el piso 13).
