| Description |
English: Railway bridge over the River Nene The bridge takes the Nene Valley Railway over the River Nene by Wansford station. The signal box can be seen in the background. A narrowboat is moored below the Old Great North Road which separates the railway station from the river.
Wansford station > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1560771 is situated on the Old Great North Road, a short distance away from the A1 road at Stibbington. It is the headquarters of the Nene Valley Railway. The railway buildings were sold off when the station was closed so a new station building had to be constructed. It was opened in 1995 and houses a booking office, a shop and café as well as public toilets. The NVR are presently trying to purchase the old station building > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1560778. |
