| Description |
English: Railway bridge 8, Paddington Arm, Grand Union Canal There are many railway bridges around here, reflecting the complexity of the railway layout in the area. This brick bridge carriea a double-track line connecting the South Western lines via Richmaond and Kew, to the ex-Midland Railway route to Bedford, Nottingham and Sheffield. There is heavy freight traffic over the lines, which once carried a passenger service, serving the long-closed Dudden Hill station and Cricklewood. Reinstatement of the passenger service has been mooted, but it would interfere with the extensive freight traffic.
The girder bridge beyond, painted green, carries a minor connecting spur. |
