Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Photograph of the railway station at Junagadh, Gujarat, taken by the travelling commercial photographer F. Nelson during the 1890s from the Lee-Warner Collection: 'Photographs of Junagadh'. Junagadh was the historic capital of the Mauryan and Gupta dynasties up to the 5th century AD, the Chudasama Rajputs in the 9th-15th century, the governors of Sorath appointed by the Mughal empire in the 17th century, and finally the Babi Nawab dynasty up o Indian independence in 1947. This is a view of the railway station, an example of British colonial architecture, which lies outside the old walled town to the north-west.
