English: Railway Bridge near Sawpit Park This sandstone bridge, just beyond Huyton Junction, gives access under the Liverpool-Manchester line and through it can be seen the second bridge under the Liverpool-Wigan line.The Liverpool and Manchester line opened on September 15th 1830, the world's first intercity passenger railway in which all the trains were timetabled and operated, for most of the distance, solely by steam locomotives. |
