Summary

[edit]
Description
English: DB Cargo class 66 locomotive 66078 leads a railhead treatment train through Heath High Level, Cardiff on 5th October 2017. The train had run from Margam to Bargoed, and was returning to Margam. During the autumn season a number of railhead treatment trains (RHTTs) operate on the UK rail network. A high pressure water jet is used to clean the railhead of leaves and leaf mulch with the aim of improving adhesion for train braking. In this photo the spray and dispersed leaves from the jet can be seen just behind the lead loco. Class 66 loco 66094 is on the rear of the train.
