Summary

English: Rail line into Chester through the city walls. The view across the corner of the city walls from near Bonewaldesthorne's Tower. The city walls were breached to make way for the North Wales railway line, as approved by the Chester and Holyhead Railway Act 1844. Here the line can be seen as it passes under the northern city wall, crosses the canal, and then curves to the right and heads into a tunnel to skirt the north of the city. See also 659653 |
