Summary

[edit]
Description

Before the early 20th Century, when railroad tunnels (PATH and Northeast Corridor) opened to carry rail passengers across the Hudson into New York City, rail passengers had to disembark there and take a ferry ride into New York City.

Today, the terminal marks the territory of Liberty State Park in New Jersey. Ferries to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island depart from there, as well as from my vantage point, Battery Park at the southern tip of Manhattan.

In the distance, an Airbus A330, belonging to TAP Air Portugal, is making a final approach into Newark Airport.
