English: Raigad Fort is a hill fortress situated in the Sahyadri mountain range at Raigad district of Maharashtra. This fort is situated 2,700 ft above sea level. There are about 1400-1450 steps leading to the fort.Raigad Fort served as the capital of Maratha Empire from 1674.Raigad was capital of first maratha king CHHATRAPATI SHIVAJI RAJE BHOSALE . Rajmudra was taken to be the Symbol of Shivaji Maharaj’s dream.The glory of the Rajmudra of Shahaji’s son Shivaji (Maharaj ) will grow like the first day moon .It will be worshiped by the world & it will shine only for well being of people.Things to see on the fort:
