Inhospitals, especially, these parts should be easily sterilisable. The tubestand should also have a holder for the pastille. Dr. Gauss of Freiburg has introduced a stand (Fig. 197) designed fortubes which are to be used with a very heavy current. It is so arranged thatthe distance of the tube from the surface of the body can readily be regulatedand measured. In addition to this it has a number of good mechanicalmovements, which render its use a great acquisition to the operator. Thetube box is protected by thick lead glass and lead rubber.
