Description
Nederlands: Radio Oranje: overzicht van toestand in de wereld (Griekenland, Frankrijk, Verenigde Staten van Amerika) door M. van Blankenstein. Eind oktober 1940 leest Loe de Jong een overzicht van het politieke wereldnieuws voor, samengesteld door M. Blankenstein. Londen staat na de Battle of Britain nog overeind, ondanks de grote schade die er door Duitse bombardementen is aangericht. In de herfst van 1940 heeft nazi-Duitsland een groot deel van West-Europa bezet. Raadselachtig is volgens Loe de Jong de toestand in Frankrijk, waar premier Laval de scepter zwaait. Pétain is niet langer de 'vader' van het Franse volk, maar de leider. Verslaggever De Jong gaat in op de aanstaande presidentsverkiezingen in de Verenigde Staten. De uitslag is onzeker, maar van de zittende president Franklin D. Roosevelt weet men wat men aan hem heeft.
English: The collection of Broadcasts from Radio Oranje (Radio Orange) contains a selection of the radio broadcasts that were transmitted between 1940 and 1945. They were broadcasts created by the Dutch Government in exile in London, transmitted to encourage and inform the people of the Netherlands whilst under occupation. This digitized audio file is a so called semi-finished product. During digitization an attempt was made to get as much detail from the original source as possible. This can sometimes mean that there is still a need for post-production to get the best possible end-product for human consumption.
