Summary

Description
English: How a Doppler radar would see three types of mesoscale circulations: rotaton, convergence and divergence. On the left, the velocity vectors in those circulations and on the right the radial component to the radar (at the bottom) that is perceived (blue toward, red away). A mesocyclone is usually a mix of rotation and convergence into the updraft so it would be seen as the doublet of the extreme right. Norice the axis of the zero velocity line.
