Summary
[edit]DescriptionRackham Mill (2) - geograph.org.uk - 650470.jpg |
English: Rackham Mill (2). Rackham Mill, rear view. The mill was an "overshot" type that was powered from a reservoir of water held in a mill pond. Water was conveyed on demand from the mill pond via an iron aqueduct, and deposited onto the top of a large driving wheel, which in turn powered the internal machinery. The faint outline of the wheel can just be seen at the bottom of the picture almost buried by foliage. Evidence on the ground of the former mill pond is out of the picture to the left 650478. |
