Italiano: STATUA - Figura antropomorfa in posizione seduta con mani sulle ginocchia; le gambe sono costituite da due cilindri mentre i piedi non sono rappresentati. La testa presenta tratti del volto sommariamente incisi (occhi e bocca) e cranio scavato. Monili sulle braccia e al collo, perizoma.

Quella dei Koma del nord Ghana è una cultura che conosceva la tecnologia del ferro e le cui opere vengono datate fra XVI e XVII secolo. Nel 1985 è stato scoperto un grande complesso funerario costituito da oltre unn centinaio di tumuli a pianta circolare delimitata da pietre, di diametro tra i quattro e i trentacinque metri. Insieme a scheletri umani e di animali, vasellame, pietre da macina e ornamenti in metallo erano collocate anche terrecotte figurative.

Una particolare rilevanza sembrano assumere nelle sculture koma gli orifizi corporei: bocca, naso, orecchie e sommità della testa sono spesso forati.
