Italiano: STRUMENTO PER LA DIVINAZIONE IROKE IFA - La scultura è composta da tre diverse sezioni: la punta, una parte figurativa rappresentante una donna a seno nudo e il manico, decorato a intaglio.
La divinazione Ifa si basa su un sistema di sedici figure di base e duecentocinquantasei derivate ottenute facendo saltare sedici noci di palma o tramite il lancio di una collana di gusci. A ciascuna delle figure si lega un verso del corpus orale di Ifa. A differenza di altri sistemi divinatori, Ifa è aperto agli adepti di ogni culto e lo specialista che lo pratica (babalawo) è un'autorità religiosa il cui sapere è esteso a tutte le divinità. Il cliente che si rivolge all'indovino non rivela il suo problema ma è chiamato ad applicare personalmente al suo caso le risposte ottenute. Ifa è la divinità che informa i mortali dei dei desideri della divinità suprema Olorun, mentre Eshu che con Ifa presiede alla divinazione, è il messaggero di Olorun che conduce a buon fine i sacrifici degli uomini e punisce gli inadempienti. Il loro è un rapporto di opposizione complementare: Eshu si accompagna semper a Ifa come il caso (il cambiamento) all'ordine: senza tempesta non c'è raccolto. L'iroke ifa è utilizzato dall'indovino per apre la seduta, battendolo sul bordo del piatto divinatorio (opon ifa) in modo da richiamare la divinità. |
