Italiano: SERRATURA (TA KOGURU) composta da un corpo verticale (TA KORO) da fissarsi alla porta e una parte orizzontale mobile (chiavistello, TA DAGU, qui mancante) che passa attraverso un'area rettangolare incisa nella parte restrostante dell'elemento verticale per poi conficcarsi in un buco nel muro. La chiusura è assicurata con due elementi metallici che a partire dall'alto vengono infissi in fori ricavati nel chiavistello. La sporgenza nella parte superiore (testa) trasforma la serratura in una scultura antropomorfa. Superficie incisa con motivi lineari incrociati.
Le serrature chiudono le porte di abitazioni, granai e pollai e, più raramente, altari. La scultura figurativa che sormonta la serratura ha un significato specifico in rapporto alla persona per la quale è stata realizzata; gli intagli che compaiono nella parte inferiore sono invece legati alla sua posizione sociale. Secondo l'antropologa Denise Paulme oltre al significato simbolico e ai vincoli funzionali occorre tener presente anche la creatività individuale dell'artista e quindi la presenza di elementi imprevedibili non vincolati socialmente e tecnicamente. Le figure antropomorfe e zoomorfe possono rifersi ai personaggi della mitologia dogon, in particolare i geni nommo, progenitori dell'umanità, i quali hanno hanno sembianze antropomorfe nella parte superiore del corpo e di serpente in quella inferiore. |
