Italiano: Maschera Zamble' - Maschera antropozoomorfa (antilope) con superficie incisa e dipinta (bianco, nero, rosso). Le corna a righe rosse e nere sono piegate verso l'interno. Occhi neri in campo rosso. La mascella è prominente e squadrata, con bocca aperta.
La maschera rappresenta un entità spirituale che assume forme antropozoomorfe: mentre le corna, così come i passi di danza, richiamano l'antilope, la bocca è piuttosto quella del leopardo (il danzatore porta anche una pelle di leopardo sulle spalle) o del coccodrillo. Elementi umani sono invece le scarificazioni cheloidali che porta sulla fronte e le incisioni che marcano l'attaccatura dei capelli. La sua identità muta in relazione alle altre maschere con cui danza: quando infatti appare insieme alla maschera zauli, che rappresenta un uomo anziano, si dice che ne sia la moglie o la sorella, mentre quando compare con la maschera gu, che raffigura una donna bella e ricca, ne diviene il marito. La maschera zamblé rappresenta oggi i valori della civiltà e della legalità. |
