Description
English: A rim sherd of a Roman black-burnished ware or Alice Holt grey ware ceramic vessel. The rim is everted and up-turned ('s' shaped). Similar to ... in the database. The fabric is hard, coarse and soapy in texture, with common angular quartz inclusions. The fabric is dark grey in colour. The rim has a diameter of 80mm. The sherd is 69.73mm L x 29.08mm W, is 5.15mm thick and weighs 19.39g. Black-burnished ware is described on potsherd: <a href="http://potsherd.net/atlas/Ware/BB2">http://potsherd.net/atlas/Ware/BB2</a>.
