Description
Español: Locomotora 120-2131 | Oeste 77 | Año 1884 | Alemania | 650 CV | 60 Km/h. | Oeste.
Adquiridas inicialmente para el Ferrocarril de Salamanca a la Frontera Portuguesa, fueron construidas en Alemania por el fabricante Esslingen. Modelo muy extendido durante el último tercio del S. XIX, en su momento resultó innovador por el hecho de introducir un eje delantero libre (sin bielas) que lo capacitaba para velocidades más elevadas. Fueron utilizadas para remolcar trenes de viajeros en lineas de poca pendiente. Serán desplazadas a medida que se precisó un incremento de potencia y prestaciones, a partir de finales de siglo. En 1928 la antigua compañía sería absorbida por la Compañía del Oeste, donde la presente locomotora recibiría el número 77, y finalmente en 1941 por Renfe, aunque ya sólo existían dos de los trece modelos iniciales. Desde entonces, serían utilizadas como máquinas de maniobras en el depósito de Salamanca, hasta su retiro definitivo en la década de 1960.
