[edit]DescriptionRCA Victor Radio - 13574518794.jpg |
English: I was introduced to radio with my parent's RCA Victor. It was the radio of my early childhood, but when I got to high school, my dad got a new radio. They basically gave the old radio to me and I was hard on it. I broke the nice glass tuning dial, for instance. Since then, I've tried to recreate the AM radio scale.
Upper scale was AM while lower scale was shortwave. Radio could tune across the 25 and 31 meter shortwave bands. Knob at far left is on/off and volume. Middle dial is tuning and dial at far right switches bands and tone. Position 1 is AM standard tone. Position 2 is Shortwave. Position 3 is AM (again), but accenting the low tones for music and static filtering. Nicely designed classic old radio from around 1940s era. When I was at school, my mom would do housework while listening to a variety music show on KWSU called World of Music. That would be followed by the late morning classical concert just before the noontime news. |
