Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Next description refers to an actual panel as seen before a restoration in the 2020's. In 2024 I found it was gone. I can only wonder where it has gone, and where the panel now in its place came from. Turkish restoration can be very drastic. A visit to the mosque confronts a viewer with a huge amount of specimens of Iznik tiles from the best period. On the outside wall there was a panel with remains of broken tiles, in a curious hotchpotch. Some tiles are treasures in their own right, others are from weaker periods.
